MAIN HOUSE
Honeywell T9 Thermostat
The Honeywell T9 controls the central heating and air conditioning for the main house. No schedule is active — whatever temperature you set is what the system will maintain.
01
Adjusting the temperature
- Tap anywhere on the thermostat screen to wake the display.
- The screen shows the current indoor temperature and the current setpoint (the temperature the system is working to reach).
- Tap the + button to raise the setpoint or the − button to lower it. Each tap changes the setpoint by one degree.
- The display confirms your new setpoint immediately. The system will begin working toward it without any further action needed.
Allow 15 to 30 minutes for the house to reach the new setpoint — the system takes time to respond, particularly on very hot or cold days.
02
System modes
Tap the mode icon on the thermostat screen to cycle through the available modes.
Cool
Runs the air conditioning to bring the house down to the setpoint temperature. Use this mode during warm weather.
Heat
Runs the heating system to bring the house up to the setpoint temperature. Use this mode during cooler weather.
Auto
The system switches automatically between heating and cooling as needed to maintain the setpoint. This is useful when temperatures fluctuate significantly between day and night.
Off
The heating and cooling system is disabled. The fan can still be run independently if needed. Please leave the system in Cool, Heat, or Auto rather than Off during your stay so the house remains at a comfortable and stable temperature.
03
Fan setting
Auto (recommended)
The fan runs only when the system is actively heating or cooling. This is the most efficient setting and the one to use for everyday comfort.
On
The fan runs continuously, circulating air through the house even when the system is not actively heating or cooling. This can help even out temperatures between rooms but uses more energy. Use it if the house feels stuffy or if air circulation between rooms is needed.
Tap the fan icon on the thermostat screen to toggle between Auto and On.
04
Remote sensors
The T9 works with a set of small remote sensors — one placed in each bedroom. Rather than relying solely on the temperature reading at the thermostat itself, the system factors in readings from all of the sensors to determine how the house is actually feeling where people are.
The practical benefit is that hot and cold spots are smoothed out. In many homes, the room where the thermostat is mounted runs a degree or two warmer or cooler than the bedrooms — so the thermostat might be satisfied while the bedroom is still uncomfortable. With sensors in the bedrooms, the system accounts for that difference and adjusts accordingly.
The sensors are small, white, and battery-powered — you will likely notice them mounted on walls in each bedroom. They do not need any interaction from guests. If a sensor appears to be offline or you notice the temperature in a room feels significantly off despite the thermostat reading correctly, let us know.
05
No schedule — set and hold
The thermostat has no active schedule during your stay. There are no programmed setbacks, nighttime adjustments, or timed overrides in effect.
Whatever temperature you set will remain in effect until you manually change it. If you adjust the setpoint before bed, that temperature will be maintained through the night. If you adjust it before leaving for the day, it will hold at that setting until you return and change it again.
You are in full control of the temperature for the duration of your stay.

Troubleshooting
The screen is dark
Tap anywhere on the screen to wake it. The display dims automatically after a period of inactivity.
The system is running but the house is not reaching the setpoint
On very hot or humid days, the air conditioning may take longer than usual to bring the house to the setpoint — particularly after doors or windows have been open. Give the system 30 to 45 minutes and make sure all exterior doors and windows are closed. If the house still cannot reach the setpoint after an hour, please contact us.
The system does not seem to be running at all
Confirm the mode is set to Cool, Heat, or Auto — not Off. Check that the setpoint is meaningfully different from the current temperature (the system will not activate if it is already within a degree or two of the setpoint). If both are correct and the system still does not run, please contact us.
Unusual sounds from the vents or air handler
A quiet hum or the sound of air moving through vents is normal. Loud banging, rattling, or high-pitched noises should be reported to us.
