PROPERTY & SAFETY
Security & Cameras
This page covers the security system and exterior cameras installed at the property. We share this information upfront so there are no surprises during your stay.
01
Security system
The property uses an Abode security system. It is installed to protect the home when it is unoccupied between guest stays.
DURING YOUR STAY
The Abode system is fully disarmed for the duration of your stay. You do not need to interact with it, enter any codes, or worry about triggering anything.
The keypad
You will see an Abode keypad near the entrance. It is there as part of the security system for when the home is between guests — during your stay it is inactive. You can ignore it entirely.
Other sensors
The system includes several types of sensors throughout the home. Each one is labeled so you can identify it if you are curious. Here is what they are and what to expect during your stay:
- Glass break sensors
- Detect the sound of breaking glass. Part of the security system — inactive during your stay.
- Motion sensors
- Detect movement in common areas. Part of the security system — inactive during your stay.
- Smoke & fire sensors
- These remain active throughout your stay as life-safety devices. If one sounds, treat it as a real alarm — exit the home and call 911.
- Water leak detectors
- Monitor for leaks near appliances and plumbing. They operate quietly in the background — you will not hear them under normal conditions.
02
Exterior cameras
There are six exterior cameras on the property. All cameras are outside the home. There are no cameras inside the home.
When positioning the cameras, we worked to avoid pointing any of them at windows or doors — the intent is coverage of the property perimeter and exterior areas, not surveillance of guests or guest activity.
Monitoring policy
Cameras are not actively monitored during guest stays. Footage is stored and reviewed only if there is a specific reason to do so — such as a reported incident, property damage, or a safety concern. We do not watch live feeds or review footage as a matter of routine.
