Keurig coffee maker appliance

01

Quick start

  1. Lift the handle on top of the brewer to open the pod chamber.
  2. Place a K-Cup pod into the pod holder with the foil side up. Do not remove the foil.
  3. Close the handle firmly until it clicks into place.
  4. Place your mug on the drip tray.
  5. Press the power button. The brewer will begin heating — this takes about one to two minutes the first time, or a few seconds if the brewer has been used recently.
  6. When the brew size buttons light up, select 6 oz, 8 oz, or 10 oz.
  7. Brewing begins immediately. Wait until it finishes before removing your mug.
  8. Lift the handle and discard the used pod.

02

Brew sizes

The K-Classic brews in three sizes. Choose based on your mug and how strong you like your coffee.

6 oz — Strongest

The most concentrated brew. Best when you want a bold, full-flavored cup. Works well for espresso-style pods.

8 oz — Standard

The all-purpose choice. A good match for most mugs and most pod varieties.

10 oz — Larger cup, milder flavor

More volume with a slightly lighter taste. A good choice if you prefer a less intense brew or are using a travel mug.

If you are unsure, start with 8 oz.

Reservoir and refilling

The 48 oz removable reservoir holds enough water for several cups before it needs to be refilled.

Checking the water level

The reservoir has MIN and MAX fill lines on the side. Keep the water level between these lines. Do not overfill.

Refilling

Open the lid on top of the reservoir and pour in fresh cold water, or lift the reservoir straight up to remove it, fill it at the sink, and set it back into place.

If the brew buttons do not light up after the brewer has warmed, check that the reservoir has water and is fully seated.

04

After you're finished

  • Lift the handle and remove the used K-Cup pod from the pod holder.
  • Dispose of the pod in the trash — used pods should not go down the drain or garbage disposal.
  • Rinse the drip tray if it collected any drips.
  • Leave the handle closed when the brewer is not in use.
  • The brewer will automatically power off approximately two hours after your last brew.

Troubleshooting

Brew buttons do not light up

The brewer may still be heating. Wait a moment. If buttons remain unlit, check that the reservoir has water, is fully seated, and that the brewer is plugged in and powered on.

Little or no coffee comes out

The needle that punctures the pod may be clogged. Lift the handle, remove the pod, and run a water-only rinse cycle by closing the handle without a pod and selecting a brew size. Repeat once if needed.

Coffee tastes weak

Choose a smaller brew size — 6 oz instead of 10 oz — for a stronger cup. You can also try a bolder pod variety.

Water leaks from the bottom

Remove and reseat the reservoir to ensure it is fully locked into place.
