Quick-start guide for a built-in grinder coffee maker. Stand near the appliance while using this guide.

Quick start

Brewing with whole beans

  1. Fill the water reservoir with the desired amount of water.
  2. Add whole coffee beans to the top bean hopper.
  3. Place the empty coffee pot on the warming plate.
  4. Press GRIND OFF until the light is OFF to enable the grinder.
  5. Select the number of cups.
  6. Choose your desired coffee strength.
  7. Press ON/OFF. The machine will grind the beans and then automatically brew your coffee.

Brewing with ground coffee

  1. Fill the water reservoir.
  2. Place a paper filter, if you prefer, or use the permanent filter.
  3. Add ground coffee.
  4. Press GRIND OFF until the light is ON to disable the grinder.
  5. Select the number of cups.
  6. Choose your coffee strength.
  7. Press ON/OFF.

Understanding the buttons

ON/OFF

Starts or stops the brewing cycle.

GRIND OFF

This setting tells the machine whether to grind beans. When the light is OFF, the grinder operates for whole beans. When the light is ON, the grinder stays off for pre-ground coffee.

STRENGTH

Choose Mild, Medium, or Strong to adjust the final brew profile.

PROGRAM

Allows you to schedule brewing for a future time. Most guests will not need this feature.

CUPS

Select the correct cup quantity so the machine uses the appropriate amount of water and coffee.

Helpful features

Permanent filter

The reusable gold-tone filter is already installed. You may also use standard basket-style paper filters if you prefer.

Pause & pour

You may carefully remove the carafe and pour a cup before brewing is finished. Please return the pot within about 30 seconds so brewing can continue without overflowing.

Keep warm

After brewing, the warming plate keeps your coffee warm automatically before shutting off.

After you're finished

  • Empty any used coffee grounds.
  • Rinse the filter basket.
  • Return all parts to the machine.
  • Wipe the counter clean if you spilled grounds.
  • Turn the machine off if it is still running.

Troubleshooting

Nothing happens

Verify the machine is plugged in, the water reservoir contains water, and the coffee pot is fully seated on the warming plate.

It won't grind beans

If the GRIND OFF light is ON, the grinder has been disabled. Press it once so the indicator turns OFF.

Coffee is weak

Select Strong, increase the amount of beans or grounds used, and use fresher coffee.
